The Server role at Hillside is a vital position within this respected senior living community. As a Server, you will be responsible for delivering an outstanding dining experience for residents and guests, ensuring prompt, courteous, and gracious service. This part-time position offers a pay rate of $17+ per hour, depending on experience, and allows flexibility to discuss scheduling during the interview process. Your primary duties will include setting up and clearing the dining area, taking accurate menu orders, serving meals efficiently, and maintaining a clean, welcoming atmosphere.
This role requires a combination of excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. You will engage directly with residents, creating positive interactions by explaining menu options, describing ingredients and preparation methods, and informing guests of daily specials. The role also involves performing additional duties such as bussing tables, assisting with meal plating, and supporting catering operations when needed. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior customer service experience
- prior food service experience in a restaurant or senior living environment
- food handler's or ServSafe certification required
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to communicate effectively with seniors and team members
- physical stamina to perform duties including standing and carrying trays
- adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment
- a friendly, patient, and courteous demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience
- prior food service, fast food or restaurant experience
- food handler's or ServSafe certification
- prior experience working with seniors preferred
- availability that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Greets residents and guests promptly as they arrive at their table
- records accurate food and beverage orders and input into the POS system
- explains how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- informs guests of daily specials, makes recommendations
- carries service tray in correct placement of orders to facilitate service of food and beverages
- works safely, consistently using designated safety equipment (personal protective equipment- PPE)
- completes bussing, runner, meal plater, utility and catering duties as needed or assigned
- refills beverages throughout the meal service
