Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • must meet local age requirements to serve alcohol if applicable
  • may require valid TIPS or TEAM or equivalent alcohol-service certification
  • ability to stand or walk for extended periods, possibly exceeding 8 hours
  • ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
  • ability to perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, or pulling
  • punctuality and regular attendance
  • ability to taste and smell
  • ability to use hands to finger, handle, feel or reach

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • if applicable, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations
  • awareness of food safety and customer service best practices
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to follow instructions and provide attentive service
  • basic math skills for handling cash and processing orders

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes
  • provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine, and answer questions about menu items, allergens, and preparation
  • accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, confirm orders with guests, and process them in the correct sequence
  • check all items for quality and completeness, ensuring that presentations are attractive, appetizing, and consistent
  • monitor guest needs, respond to requests, and address concerns or complaints with professionalism
  • perform significant walking or other means of mobility
  • attend work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
