The role of Wait Staff Tipped at the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheatre offers a rewarding opportunity to join the vibrant hospitality team at one of the most iconic live event venues. This part-time position has a pay range between $17.87 and $21 per hour, emphasizing the value placed on quality service and employee satisfaction. As a member of Sodexo Live’s Wait Staff team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by efficiently attending to guest needs, providing detailed menu knowledge, and ensuring that all orders are processed accurately and promptly. The position requires open availability with varying shifts and hours to meet the dynamic demands of live event service.

In this role, you will greet and seat guests with professionalism, introduce menu specials, and provide insightful recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine options. Your keen attention to detail will help maintain high standards of presentation and quality, contributing to an overall memorable dining experience for patrons. Physical stamina and mobility are crucial, as the job involves significant walking, standing for extended periods, and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. You will also be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and a proactive approach to resolving guest complaints or requests.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • if applicable, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations
  • may require a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification
  • must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
  • ability to walk or stand for extended periods
  • ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull
  • frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • use hands to finger, handle, feel or reach with hands and arms
  • ability to taste and smell
  • ability to perform repetitive motions
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes
  • provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine, and answer questions about menu items, allergens, and preparation
  • accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, confirm orders with guests, and process them in the correct sequence
  • check all items for quality and completeness, ensuring that presentations are attractive, appetizing, and consistent
  • monitor guest needs, respond to requests, and address concerns or complaints with professionalism
  • perform significant walking and other means of mobility
  • stand for extended periods, walk or stand throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
