This particular full-time role is based within an International Law Firm, where Sodexo provides food service through its restaurant operations on-site. The position, titled Wait Staff Non-Tipped, offers a competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour. Scheduled shifts primarily occur during afternoons and evenings, with flexibility required for varying days including some weekends and holidays. Wait Staff Non-Tipped at Sodexo play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service by efficiently attending to guests’ needs with professionalism and attentiveness.

As a Wait Staff Non-Tipped, your core responsibility is to ensure guests receive a welcoming dining experience by greeting and seating them, presenting menus, and offering knowledgeable recommendations about the menu including entrees, appetizers, desserts, and beverages. Familiarity with food preparation, allergens, and menu changes is vital to answer guest inquiries confidently. You will be responsible for taking accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely communication with the kitchen, and verifying all orders for quality and presentation consistency. The role demands attention to guest satisfaction by proactively monitoring needs, promptly responding to requests, and addressing any concerns or complaints with a calm and professional manner.

Physical stamina is essential as the job involves significant walking or mobility throughout shifts, which may extend beyond eight hours. Expect to perform repetitive motions and physical tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds as necessary. The job also requires the ability to taste and smell to ensure food quality standards are met. Promptness and regular attendance are mandatory to maintain smooth service flow.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • If applicable, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations
  • May require a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification, and must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
  • The employee must be able to use hands to finger, handle, feel or reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to taste and smell
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Attendance and punctuality with satisfactory regularity

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine, and answer questions about menu items, allergens, and preparation
  • Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, confirm orders with guests, and process them in the correct sequence
  • Check all items for quality and completeness, ensuring that presentations are attractive, appetizing, and consistent
  • Monitor guest needs, respond to requests, and address concerns or complaints with professionalism
  • Perform significant walking or other means of mobility throughout the shift
  • Lift and carry items up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
