Job Description
Frasier is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Life Plan retirement community located in Boulder, Colorado, with a proud history dating back to 1960. Committed to creating a vibrant and enriching lifestyle for seniors, Frasier offers a full continuum of care that includes independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. The community serves nearly 500 residents and is supported by more than 300 dedicated team members who provide exceptional dining experiences, wellness programs, comprehensive health services, and engaging activities. Frasier stands out due to its values-based culture that emphasizes community, curiosity, excellence, respect, and accountability. This culture aims to foster a supportive environment that inspires residents, caregivers, and staff alike.
The Wait Staff position at Frasier plays a crucial role in supporting the community's mission by enhancing the dining experience for residents. This role is situated in a hospitality-driven dining environment where residents come first and delivering attentive, respectful service is paramount. The wait staff is responsible for creating welcoming moments and meaningful connections that make residents feel truly at home. This role requires dedication to maintaining a warm, organized, and professional dining atmosphere that meets Frasier's high standards for service, safety, and health protocols.
The Wait Staff member will prepare dining rooms with linens, dishware, glassware, and utensils, reset tables promptly to ensure a smooth flow of service, maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout dining and service areas, and assist with washing and storing dishware following safety guidelines. Attentive meal service involves providing courteous and timely food and beverage service, accurately taking and delivering meal orders while adhering to presentation and portion standards, and assisting residents with menu selections including details regarding ingredients, special daily offerings, textures, and allergens. Familiarity with residents' names, preferences, and dietary needs is encouraged to personalize and enrich the dining experience.
Safety and compliance are critical components of this position. The wait staff will follow FDA food safety standards as well as Colorado Retail Food Establishment Rules, maintain departmental safety and sanitation standards, and accurately input orders into dining or point-of-sale systems. Additional teamwork and operational support to ensure efficient dining service are part of the role, along with serving as a role model for Frasier's values and compliance with Colorado Elder Abuse Law.
Compensation for this role ranges between $18.40 and $21.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications. The schedule includes shifts on Saturdays with variable times from early morning to evening, as well as weeknight evening shifts. Frasier offers an impressive benefits package that includes the employer paying 83% of health, dental, and vision premiums, a 401(k) plan with a 100% match on the first 5%, employer-paid disability and life insurance, generous paid time off of up to 18 days per year, and tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually. Additional perks include a free on-site fitness center, an employee assistance program, discounted YMCA membership, and eco-friendly commuting benefits.
Frasier promotes a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive work environment rooted in empathy and professionalism—a place where team members can grow their skills, make meaningful impacts daily, and enjoy inspiring mountain views in beautiful Boulder. This position requires strong customer service and interpersonal skills, clear and professional communication, basic computer literacy, and a working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. While prior dining or hospitality experience is preferred, it is not required.
Frasier is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Employment is contingent on completing required health screenings and background checks. This role is ideal for caring, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a team-oriented setting and are passionate about supporting senior residents through exceptional dining service.
