The role of Wait Staff Non-Tipped at Sodexo is a full-time position located at the UNITED CLUB - DCA, offering pay at $20.75 per hour. This position requires flexible availability to work any shift, with more specific scheduling details discussed during the interview process. As a member of the wait staff team, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for guests. Your main responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, presenting menus, recommending menu items including meals, beverages, and wines, and taking accurate food and drink orders. You will work closely with the kitchen and other team members to guarantee that every order is prepared and served to the highest quality and with timely precision.
This role demands a professional, friendly, and attentive approach, aiming to exceed customer expectations consistently. You will also be responsible for monitoring guests' needs throughout their visit, responding promptly to requests, and addressing any complaints professionally and effectively. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, sometimes over eight hours, and to perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Additionally, the role involves manual dexterity to handle items safely, sensory perception to taste and smell, and the capacity to perform repetitive motions comfortably.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 0 to 1 year related experience
- Must be at or over minimum age to serve alcohol based on local regulations
- May require valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification
- Must comply with state-specific alcohol training requirements

Job Duties
- Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine, and answer questions about menu items, allergens, and preparation
- Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, confirm orders with guests, and process them in the correct sequence
- Check all items for quality and completeness, ensuring that presentations are attractive, appetizing, and consistent
- Monitor guest needs, respond to requests, and address concerns or complaints with professionalism
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
