Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in providing food services and facilities management, with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the individuals and communities it serves. Known for its comprehensive and integrated solutions worldwide, Sodexo partners with clients in various sectors to deliver memorable experiences and improve everyday interactions for both customers and employees. This dedication to quality and service makes Sodexo a trusted name in the hospitality and service industry. The company strongly values diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities, creating a supportive environment that respects and embraces culture and belonging. Sodexo's work environment encourages employees to be themselves, contribute ideas, and feel valued, aligning with its core values of fairness, respect, and community progress.
The role of Wait Staff Non-Tipped at Sodexo, located at Canterbury Towers, offers part-time employment with a pay range of $15.00 to $17.00 per hour. This position involves providing exceptional and attentive service to customers by efficiently serving a variety of freshly made entrées, appetizers, desserts, and beverages according to Sodexo's restaurant menu. The Wait Staff will greet and seat guests, present menus, suggest specials, and assist with menu inquiries, including providing detailed information about meals, allergens, and preparation methods. This customer-facing role requires professionalism, friendliness, and attentiveness to ensure customers have a satisfying dining experience.
Candidates must be prepared for significant physical activity throughout their shift, including walking or standing for extended periods, often exceeding eight hours. The ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly—and occasionally up to 50 pounds—is essential. Using hands and arms effectively and being capable of repetitive motions are part of the job’s physical demands. The role also requires the ability to taste and smell food to maintain quality control standards.
Additional responsibilities include accurately taking and relaying orders, ensuring the timely and correct sequence of food delivery, monitoring guest needs, and responding promptly and courteously to requests or complaints. Sodexo emphasizes punctuality and attendance as critical factors for success in this position. While the primary duties are consistent, the company recognizes that some responsibilities may vary depending on business necessities and client requirements at different accounts.
Sodexo offers a flexible and supportive work environment, suitable for those balancing personal commitments. Employees benefit from ongoing training, development opportunities, and a pathway to career advancement. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) retirement plans, discount programs, and more. Some locations may also provide additional site-specific benefits like free or subsidized meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and assistance with transportation or parking.
Overall, Sodexo strives to provide an enriching work experience that combines professional growth with personal well-being, making a meaningful impact on both employees and customers alike. Candidates are encouraged to discuss specific questions about benefits and duties during the interview process to fully understand the offerings and expectations associated with this role.
