Job Description
Sunset is a dedicated senior living community focused on providing quality services to senior adults while upholding a spirit of Christian love. As a reputable establishment in the eldercare industry, Sunset embodies a culture of respect, care, and consistency, especially in the realm of dining and hospitality services. The organization’s mission highlights the importance of leadership that is honest, dependable, and compassionate, ensuring that every interaction and service fosters dignity and genuine care for residents and team members alike. Leadership at Sunset is characterized by humility and a commitment to serve alongside staff, creating a supportive and motivating work environment that values both quality and human connection.
At Sunset, the dining services team plays a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of senior residents. The Server position, offered on a part-time basis, is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about creating memorable dining experiences and building meaningful relationships with the residents. Servers are integral to the community as they contribute not only to food service but also to the social fabric through daily conversations and consistent personal engagement with residents.
Working in the Manor kitchens, Servers are responsible for ensuring that meal times run smoothly by preparing the dining areas, assisting with meal service, and maintaining cleanliness and order before, during, and after meals. The role requires a steady and focused work ethic, especially during busy meal periods, as well as the ability to follow established protocols and work cooperatively with the broader team. The position includes responsibilities such as setting tables, serving food, assisting with room service for residents who prefer to dine in their rooms, and helping with dishes and cleaning tasks.
This role is not only about service but also about creating a warm, welcoming environment where seniors feel valued and cared for. Through reliability, respect for coworkers and residents, and a willingness to learn, team members help shape the vibrant community atmosphere that Sunset strives to uphold. The part-time schedule includes first-shift hours with weekend and holiday rotations, allowing for steady and predictable work hours while contributing to vital community needs.
Sunset recognizes and values the dedication of its staff by offering competitive pay starting at $13.75 per hour, with consideration for higher rates based on experience. Servers benefit from consistent schedules, provided uniforms including nonslip footwear for safety, meals during shifts, and access to support services such as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and chaplain services. The leadership team prioritizes creating an environment where accountability and support coexist, fostering a workplace where all employees feel respected and empowered to perform their best.
Joining Sunset means becoming part of a mission-driven community that views every team member’s contribution as essential to the well-being and happiness of senior adults. If you are someone who wants to make a difference, enjoys working in a team-oriented setting, and desires to develop valued relationships with the residents you serve, this Server role offers a fulfilling and meaningful part-time position.
