The Wait Person at Eskaton plays a vital role in delivering outstanding dining experiences to residents. This position is responsible for the setup, service, and cleanup during meal periods, aiming to provide friendly, efficient, and attentive service at all times. The role requires a dedication to detail and customer satisfaction, where the Wait Person takes meal orders with care, considering dietary needs, preferences, and allergies, and assists with meal preparation and service. Beyond routine duties, this role also supports special events and communicates any issues or feedback promptly to supervisors, ensuring the dining service runs smoothly and meets Eskaton's high standards. This is a part-time or full-time hourly position, offering competitive pay ranging from 17.40 to 20.96 dollars per hour, depending on experience, education, and other relevant factors. Job Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
- previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred
- California Food Handler certification
- successful completion of Eskaton's post offer pre-employment testing including criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen
- ability to comply with Eskaton's dress code and community appearance standards
- ability to maintain attendance as per Eskaton policy
- willingness to sign arbitration agreement as a condition of employment
- ability to follow safety guidelines and use proper body mechanics
Job Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D. preferred
- previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred
- California Food Handler certification

Job Duties
- Sets wait station or stations and keeps station well stocked and cleaned
- busses and resets tables as needed
- takes resident meal orders in accordance with prescribed diets, preferences, dislikes and food allergies in an accurate and courteous manner and provides prompt service
- assists with preparing plates and serving residents
- performs the assigned opening and closing duties promptly and efficiently
- keeps cooks and supervisor or manager on duty informed of questions, reactions, comments or problems that may arise
- assists at special events as requested
- familiar with food service disaster plan
