The Wait Person position at Eskaton plays a crucial role in the dining service of its communities. This role involves the set-up, delivery, and clean-up during meal periods, with an emphasis on providing friendly and compassionate service. Wait Persons ensure that residents receive their meals accurately and promptly, taking into account prescribed diets, preferences, and allergies. They maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and table areas, assist in preparing and serving meals, and communicate effectively with cooks and supervisors regarding any resident feedback or issues. The role also involves participating in special events and adhering to Eskaton's food service disaster plan.

Job Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
- previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred
- California food handler certification
- ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- ability to pass post offer, pre-employment testing including criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen
- willingness to sign arbitration agreement as a condition of employment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred
- previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred
- California food handler
- understanding of the philosophy of quality customer service and satisfaction
Job Duties
- Sets wait station(s) and keeps station well stocked and cleaned
- busses and resets tables as needed
- takes resident meal orders in accordance with prescribed diets, preferences, dislikes and food allergies in an accurate and courteous manner and provides prompt service
- assists with preparing plates and serving residents
- performs the assigned opening and closing duties promptly and efficiently
- keeps cooks and supervisor/manager on duty informed of questions, reactions, comments or problems that may arise
- assists at special events as requested
- familiar with food service disaster plan
