Job Description
Breeze Airways is an innovative and rapidly expanding airline headquartered in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Known as "The World's Nicest Airline," Breeze is committed to transforming the travel experience by making it simpler, more affordable, and more convenient for its guests. Leveraging state-of-the-art technology, ingenuity, and a culture rooted in kindness, the airline aims to enhance every aspect of the passenger journey. Recruitment at Breeze Airways is a call to join a dynamic and passionate team that works cross-functionally to uphold and deliver the company’s mission.
This opportunity is for the Vice President of Flight Operations, a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for the oversight and management of all flight operations within the airline. This role also carries the responsibility of serving as the Director of Operations (DO) under 14 CFR Part 119.65, ensuring full compliance with FAA regulations and maintaining the highest safety standards. Positioned at the airline’s headquarters, the VP of Flight Operations acts as the primary liaison with the FAA's Principal Operations Inspector, ensuring the airline meets and exceeds regulatory requirements and operations specifications.
The VP of Flight Operations commands a comprehensive scope of duties that encompass the regulatory, operational, and safety dimensions of airline flight operations. They are tasked with maintaining all operational controls under the Breeze Airways Air Carrier Certificate and ensuring consistency and compliance among flight operation manuals and policies. Critical to the role is the supervision and integration of training programs, crew scheduling, and operational oversight designed to promote a culture of safety and regulatory adherence. The VP oversees the qualifications and conduct of the Flight Operations team members and has authority over flight crew hiring, training, and standardization.
In addition to hands-on operational responsibilities, the role requires strategic planning, budget management, and continuous improvement initiatives driven by operational data analysis. The executive is entrusted with maintaining the integrity and security of the airline’s electronic record-keeping and flight planning systems—a critical component in regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. This is a role that demands a thorough understanding of aviation safety standards, regulatory frameworks, company policies, and airworthiness maintenance requirements.
Success in this role requires a blend of leadership, technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and interpersonal skills, reflecting Breeze’s core values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence. The airline provides a collaborative environment where autonomous decision-making and entrepreneurial spirit are encouraged, supported by tools such as the MS Office Suite for effective communication and project management. This leadership role guarantees a significant impact on the airline's operational success and growth trajectory, making it ideal for experienced aviation professionals prepared to contribute at the highest level to a mission-driven company.
