  • Seagoing experience on tankers or shoreside commercial operations experience

  • University degree in a relevant field (desirable)
  • Previous international exposure (desirable)
  • Experience of role-relevant software platforms (eg IMOS, ZeroNorth, Sedna, Vortexa) (desirable)
  • Familiarity with the management and coordination of STS operations (desirable)

Job Duties

  • Ensure focus on commercial aspects of vessel operations from pre-fixture until post fixture
  • Ensure compliance with Teekay policies, contractual and legal (local & international) requirements
  • Assist the Chartering team during pre-fixture (with questionnaires, stow plans and compliance)
  • Keep Chartering team appraised of voyage progress, issues, and completion prospects
  • Develop bunker strategy in co-ordination with Chartering, and Bunker teams
  • Coordinate with Technical Manager to maximize vessel availability and optimize vessel condition
  • Monitor and optimize vessel performance
  • Support Commercial Claims Coordinators with Post-Fixture queries to Charterers
  • Liaise with Charterers and oversee Voyage Order execution. Raise issues and manage expectations
  • Appoint port agents and liaise to ensure smooth operation. Review / approve Disbursement Account
  • Strive for accuracy and stability of the Voyage Profit & Loss account, and highlight discrepancies
  • Prepare and issue Freight and other invoices. Monitor and ensure timely collection of funds
  • Maintain in-depth voyage records, and ensure proper handling of Cargo & Voyage documentation
  • Review and execute Charter Party, Recap and Voyage Orders. Appropriately raise inconsistencies
  • Ensure proper notification in place for delivery of vessels in and out of service and off-hires
  • Visit Teekay vessels when practicable
  • Brief Masters, and Technical Managers to ensure understanding of commercial concepts
  • Develop relationships with customers, brokers, and agents. Attend industry events where possible
  • Time Charter - Maintain vessel particulars
  • liaise with Head Owners & implement their policies
  • Process hire invoices & Off-Hires
  • Work as a team to allow operational coverage for vacations and other occasions as required
  • Schedule and coordinate the deployment of Lightering Support Vessels, equipment, and personnel when functioning as STS Coordinator
  • Utilize scheduling tools to efficiently plan, monitor, and deconflict operations when functioning as STS Coordinator
  • Liaise with customers regarding weather conditions, convey delays, and manage expectations when functioning as STS Coordinator
  • Liaise with local partners, and optimize resources and expenditures when functioning as STS Coordinator
  • Monitor regional markets and activities of competitors when functioning as STS Coordinator
  • Maintain customer, vessel, and operational records when functioning as STS Coordinator
