Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university related in business administration, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field
- four to five years progressively responsible experience overseeing special events and/or volunteer-related activities or any equivalent combinations of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- valid state driver’s license

Job Duties
- Plan, develop, coordinate, manage and monitor all public relations activities
- recruit, train, coordinate and monitor volunteers to meet program needs
- plan and monitor all Salvation Army special events
- write and submit news and press releases
- design and prepare newsletters and promotional materials
- conduct presentations for various meetings
- attend Salvation Army events and write articles
- maintain volunteer records and conduct evaluations
- organize volunteer appreciation and recognition events
- coordinate Christmas kettles and Angel Tree programs
- attend community networking opportunities and public speaking engagements
- develop and manage event budgets
- evaluate special event effectiveness
- represent The Salvation Army to the media and public
- assist in preparing and administering departmental budgets
- travel locally and statewide for training and project oversight
- work weekend and evening hours as needed
- perform other duties as assigned
