Job Description

Remarkable is a dedicated hospice care provider committed to delivering compassionate, dignified, and supportive care to patients and their families during some of life's most delicate moments. Hospice care at Remarkable is not merely a service; it is a heartfelt calling that extends beyond standard healthcare. Anchored by compassion, the organization fosters a workplace culture where kindness leads, every voice matters, and every role holds deep purpose. As a hospice care provider, Remarkable emphasizes creating a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of both patients and their loved ones throughout the end-of-life journey.

Joining Remarkable means becoming part of a close-knit team that feels like family, united by the desire to make a difference and support those in need. The company values the unique contributions of each team member and provides an environment that encourages professional growth and personal fulfillment.

The Volunteer Coordinator role is essential to Remarkable’s mission. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and managing the hospice volunteer program to ensure robust volunteer support for patients, families, and hospice operations. The Volunteer Coordinator's efforts directly contribute to enhancing the quality of care and comfort provided by volunteers who play a vital role in the hospice experience. This is a multifaceted role that involves recruiting passionate volunteers, providing comprehensive training and orientation, supervising and supporting volunteers to deliver compassionate care, and maintaining compliance with hospice regulations and organizational policies.

The Volunteer Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) to assess volunteer needs and tailor volunteer services that align with patient care plans and administrative functions. Beyond managing the volunteer workforce, the role includes conducting program evaluations, developing volunteer engagement strategies, and fostering an environment of recognition and continued education for volunteers to enhance retention. The Volunteer Coordinator also represents the volunteer program in community outreach activities to raise awareness and recruit volunteers.

This position involves active participation in budget preparation related to the volunteer program and contributes to quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) efforts. The Volunteer Coordinator may provide direct volunteer services when needed and ensures adherence to ethical decision-making, confidentiality policies, and agency standards. Remarkable is looking for a leader with excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to oversee a diverse and valued team of hospice volunteers, helping to bring peace and support to patients and families during critical times.
