Job Description

Tulsa Community College (TCC) is a prominent educational institution committed to creating positive and supportive work environments that foster success among its diverse employee base. Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, TCC is one of the largest community colleges in the area, dedicated to providing high-quality education and comprehensive student services to meet the needs of its students. The college emphasizes a culture of respect, inclusivity, and cultural competence, ensuring that every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully to the institution’s mission. TCC actively seeks to hire and retain culturally competent faculty and staff who continually develop their skills to serve the community effectively. This institution prides itself on fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence that directly benefits its student population and the wider Tulsa community.

This full-time position is based at the Southeast campus with a competitive hourly salary range of $21.58 to $22.93. The work schedule is typically Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a structured weekday routine conducive to work-life balance.

The role focuses on supporting volunteerism and nonprofit engagement as part of the Student Success department. The incumbent will be responsible for advertising, facilitating, and evaluating volunteer opportunities for TCC students, aiming to deepen student involvement in community service. Key responsibilities include managing the volunteer database, overseeing data collection and reporting specifically for the Tulsa Achieves Volunteer Service and Career Exploration Hours programs, and cultivating strong community partnerships with local agencies. These partnerships are essential for creating meaningful service-learning collaborations that benefit both students and community organizations.

The position requires the development and implementation of risk management policies to safeguard volunteer outreach initiatives. Collaboration with various TCC stakeholders—including Career Services, Student Life, and academic departments—is critical to ensure clear communication regarding volunteer policies and service expectations. The role includes serving as the first point of contact for all student volunteer experiences across the college, promoting opportunities through social media and other channels, consulting with students about volunteering protocols, managing concerns and complaints with community partners, and maintaining accurate tracking of volunteer hours. Furthermore, the position involves organizing community events such as the annual Volunteer Fair, coordinating the President's Volunteer Service Award ceremony, and supporting internship development related to nonprofit organizations.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Human Relations, Education, or a related field, along with at least one year of relevant experience in higher education or the nonprofit sector. The candidate must possess excellent communication, technology, and management skills and demonstrate a genuine passion for community outreach and relationship building. Experience with data management software is preferred, enhancing the ability to maintain and utilize volunteer data efficiently.

TCC also offers an attractive benefits package designed to provide essential protections for employees and their families, including health and dental insurance coverage, paid time off, retirement plans, and other benefits that contribute to the overall compensation and well-being of its staff. By joining TCC, individuals become part of a dynamic team dedicated to fostering student success and community engagement through impactful volunteer service programs.
