As part of its mission, the NEW Zoo aims to inspire environmental stewardship and support conservation efforts both locally and globally. It maintains high standards, such as accreditation by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA), reflecting its dedication to quality and professionalism in zoological operations and community engagement.

This includes managing volunteer recruitment, training, evaluation, and retention to strengthen both public and private initiatives. The role requires a balance of administrative proficiency and people skills to enhance the guest experience and support the zoo’s operational needs. Additionally, the Coordinator works collaboratively with various departments such as marketing and education to execute integrated strategies that cross-promote volunteerism and membership.

Being an ambassador for the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, the Coordinator must exhibit excellent customer service skills, the ability to work indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions, and flexibility to attend to special events outside normal hours. The position also offers an engaging environment where one can contribute to wildlife conservation and community education while developing a career in nonprofit volunteer coordination and membership management. Comprehensive benefits and supports, including healthcare, dental, vision, and various insurance plans, accompany this position, making it an appealing opportunity for qualified candidates seeking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic zoo setting.
