Job Description

United States Veterans Initiative (U.S. VETS) is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to ending homelessness among veterans across the United States. By providing comprehensive services such as housing, job training, counseling, and health care, U.S. VETS strives to support veterans and their families on their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency. The organization operates various programs tailored to address the unique needs of veterans, including transitional housing, veteran-specific supportive services, and community engagement initiatives. As a respected leader in veteran services, U.S. VETS emphasizes community collaboration, volunteer involvement, and the empowerment of those they serve to create holistic and sustainable solutions.

The Volunteer & Client Activities Coordinator role is a pivotal position within the U.S. VETS team, reporting directly to the site Program Manager. This role is responsible for coordinating a broad range of activities for clients and their families enrolled in U.S. VETS programs, ensuring they have access to engaging, supportive, and therapeutic activities that foster personal and vocational growth. In addition, this position manages and nurtures the volunteer program by developing opportunities, placing volunteers strategically, and facilitating volunteer training and orientation to maximize impact on both clients and the organization. This coordinator not only supports the day-to-day activities that improve client engagement and well-being but also plays a crucial part in resource development and fundraising events, contributing to the sustainability and expansion of U.S. VETS services.

This non-exempt position requires an individual with excellent organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and a passion for serving the veteran community. The coordinator will be actively involved in assessing the needs of both clients and staff, organizing schedules, coordinating transportation, and tracking participation to ensure program objectives are met. Their role expands beyond logistics; they are agents of community integration, helping clients reach their personal and social goals through therapeutic and recreational activities. The position demands a proactive, self-motivated professional who can manage multiple tasks independently while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for clients and volunteers alike. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a measurable difference in the lives of veterans and their families while contributing to a respected organization's mission that values compassion, inclusion, and resilience.
