Job Description
SRM Concrete, also known as Smyrna Ready Mix, is a reputable family-owned company that has established itself as a national leader in the ready mix concrete industry. Since its founding in 1999 with a single plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, SRM Concrete has expanded to over 600 locations nationwide. The company attributes its rapid growth to its steadfast focus on quality, integrity, and exceptional service. SRM Concrete is committed to serving not only its customers but also its communities and team members with excellence on every load, every day. This commitment makes SRM Concrete an appealing employer for those seeking a stable yet dynamic workplace with opportunities for career advancement.
SRM Concrete operates with a values-driven approach, emphasizing the importance of respect, teamwork, and doing what is right both on the job and in the surrounding community. The culture at SRM Concrete is straightforward and dependable, where every voice is valued and recognized for a job well done. Employees are encouraged to work hard and support each other, creating a positive work environment that fosters personal and professional growth. The company’s dedication to quality not only reflects in the products but also in every interaction with customers, reinforcing its reputation as a service-first organization.
The role of Mixer Operator at SRM Concrete is essential within their operations. Mixer Operators, also known as Ready Mix Truck Drivers or Concrete Mixer Operators, are responsible for safely delivering quality concrete to various commercial and residential construction sites. They serve as the face of SRM Concrete at job sites, representing the company’s values through professionalism, timeliness, and attentive customer service. This role is ideal for individuals holding a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), who are safety-conscious and take pride in providing excellent service.
Mixer Operators at SRM Concrete benefit from consistent local routes that allow them to be home daily and the company proudly observes Sundays off, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, the company offers competitive hourly pay with overtime, potential bonuses, and annual raises, which together create a rewarding compensation package. SRM Concrete also supports employee growth and advancement, providing opportunities to build a long-term career within a rapidly growing organization.
The position demands candidates who are physically able to handle the demands of the job, including lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, and working in various weather conditions. Safety is paramount; thus, Mixer Operators must follow all Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and company safety protocols carefully. Operators perform pre- and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance to ensure the safety and compliance of their vehicles.
In addition to delivering concrete, Mixer Operators assist with plant or yard duties as needed, work closely with dispatch and plant teams for efficient scheduling, and maintain accurate delivery and vehicle records. This role requires reliable communication and teamwork skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. While previous experience as a Mixer Operator or in construction delivery is beneficial, SRM Concrete welcomes motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the company.
Joining SRM Concrete not only means securing a stable and fulfilling role with competitive compensation and benefits but also being part of a team culture that values respect, integrity, and collaboration. Employees are supported through comprehensive benefits, including low-cost medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, a 401k plan with a weekly match, and family-oriented events. SRM Concrete invites passionate CDL drivers ready to contribute to building America’s infrastructure to apply and become part of their expanding family.
