Job Description
SRM Concrete, also known as Smyrna Ready Mix, is a national leader in the ready mix concrete industry with a strong reputation for quality, integrity, and exceptional customer service. Founded in 1999 with a single plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, SRM Concrete has expanded to over 600 locations nationwide, demonstrating consistent growth and a commitment to excellence. This family-owned, values-driven company focuses on serving its customers, communities, and team members with dedication and professionalism. SRM Concrete prides itself on creating a team culture that emphasizes hard work, respect, and collaboration, fostering an environment where every employee is valued and supported. The company is also known for offering consistent local routes that allow employees to be home daily, no Sunday work, competitive pay with overtime, and a comprehensive benefits package.
The opportunity at SRM Concrete is for seasoned and motivated CDL drivers to join as Mixer Operators, also known as Ready Mix Truck Drivers, CDL Mixer Drivers, and Concrete Mixer Operators. Both Class A and Class B CDL holders are encouraged to apply. The role of a Mixer Operator is integral to the delivery of high-quality concrete to commercial and residential construction sites across the region. These drivers are the face of SRM Concrete on job sites, tasked with not only driving safely and efficiently but also upholding the company’s service-first attitude by providing outstanding customer service. Mixer Operators are responsible for operating concrete mixer trucks to transport and deliver ready mix concrete to various job sites. They must ensure that the concrete mix meets precise quality standards by loading, mixing, and inspecting the material before delivery. Operators also perform pre- and post-trip inspections and routine vehicle maintenance to comply with safety regulations outlined by DOT, OSHA, and company policies.
In addition to transportation and material handling, Mixer Operators coordinate schedules and routes with dispatch and plant teams to maximize efficiency. Their responsibilities extend to maintaining accurate delivery and vehicle records, assisting with plant or yard duties when necessary, and ensuring overall safety for themselves, their teams, and the public. Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs, climb ladders or stairs, and work in varying weather conditions.
SRM Concrete is dedicated to the growth and career advancement of its team members, offering opportunities for upward mobility within a rapidly expanding company. Employees enjoy a supportive team culture that recognizes hard work and encourages doing what is right both on the job and in the community. The company provides competitive hourly pay with overtime, eligibility for bonuses and annual raises, plus a low-cost, comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, 401k retirement plans with matching contributions, and family-focused company events. At SRM Concrete, being a CDL driver means being part of a team that is central to building America’s infrastructure and future with pride and professionalism. Candidates who are safety-conscious, service-oriented, and eager to grow within the company will find SRM Concrete to be a rewarding place to build a career.
