Job Description

Volo is a dynamic and rapidly growing community sports and social activity platform that connects more than 450,000 users across the United States. As a company, Volo specializes in organizing a diverse range of fitness and social activities, from performance sports like soccer to social games like cornhole, emphasizing real interaction, authentic fun, and meaningful connections among community members. This grassroots movement aims to help individuals better connect with one another over extended periods, fostering genuine relationships through shared experiences lasting an entire season.

Volo has established itself as a key player in the active lifestyle space, managing leagues and events across 11 metropolitan areas and counting. The company also partners with the Volo Kids Foundation to provide free youth sports programs serving over 20,000 children, underscoring its commitment to community enrichment and social impact. Rated as one of the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies, Volo offers an inspiring and growth-oriented work environment for those passionate about sports, community, and making a difference.

The role of a Host at Volo’s new Club Volo venue in downtown San Jose, and within their league operations, is crucial in delivering a positive and engaging experience for all participants. The Host acts as the heartbeat of the leagues, creating a welcoming, energetic, and inclusive atmosphere for players and guests. Working primarily on weekends, the Host ensures that all games, activities, and events run seamlessly while serving as the primary point of contact for participants throughout the 8-week seasons.

Volo is seeking outgoing, dependable, and people-focused individuals who are comfortable leading groups, communicating effectively, and fostering a sense of community and fun among players. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured but flexible environment and takes pride in being reliable and approachable. This is a unique opportunity to combine a passion for social interaction and sports with a paycheck, all while contributing to the growth and success of a national organization dedicated to community health and connection.

Hosts at Volo not only manage logistical tasks such as player check-ins, score reporting via the Volo Host App, venue preparation, and timing of games but also play a pivotal role in encouraging players to engage beyond the games through socialization and event promotion. The role offers personal growth opportunities within the organization, access to free or discounted leagues, participation in a supportive team culture, and the chance to be part of an inspiring mission that supports youth sports through every league hosted.

Working at Volo means joining a diverse and inclusive employer that values fairness, equal opportunity, and a harassment-free workplace. Volo’s team members can expect a culture that champions community spirit and individual well-being, making it an ideal career destination for those who want to make a real difference through sports and social activities.
