Job Description

Underdog Sports Leagues is a dynamic organization specializing in adult recreational sports, particularly focusing on volleyball leagues for players aged 21 and over. Operating across multiple locations in Seattle, Underdog offers a lively and active environment for adults to engage in both indoor and beach volleyball. With a strong commitment to fun, fairness, and community engagement, Underdog Sports Leagues has established itself as a leading provider of recreational sports leagues that bring people together in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere. Known for their year-round indoor volleyball programs and seasonal beach volleyball leagues from April through August, the company prides itself on delivering well-organized, enjoyable, and safe sporting events.

The role of Volleyball League Supervisor at Underdog Sports Leagues is a part-time position, paying $24.50 per hour, offering a flexible schedule that typically ranges between 5 to 20 hours weekly. This job presents an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about volleyball and sports event management to join a reputable, community-focused league. Supervisors are the face of the league onsite, responsible for ensuring that games run smoothly, rules are followed, and participants enjoy a positive and engaging experience. The position also includes a unique education benefit whereby employees who work 100 hours in a calendar year can receive a $500 contribution towards college tuition, student loan debt, or a child’s 529 education savings plan, underscoring the company’s investment in the personal growth and development of its staff.

This role is far from entry-level in terms of volleyball knowledge. It requires active engagement on the court, the ability to make confident rulings, and clear communication with players of various skill levels, including seasoned volleyball enthusiasts. The supervisor will lead operations by setting up and breaking down equipment, managing games for timeliness and fairness, handling questions or conflicts proactively, and embodying the professionalism and friendly spirit of Underdog Sports Leagues. The work environment is fast-paced and demands a blend of physical activity, decision-making skills, and excellent interpersonal interaction. Supervisors come equipped with real volleyball knowledge to effectively oversee the leagues and enforce rules confidently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, taking ownership of a busy event, and contributing positively to a team-oriented sports community.
