Job Description

Underdog Sports Leagues is a dynamic company specializing in organizing and managing adult recreational sports leagues, with a strong focus on volleyball in the Seattle area. Known for its vibrant and inclusive community, Underdog Sports Leagues offers a platform where adults aged 21 and older can enjoy indoor and beach volleyball in a friendly, competitive setting. The organization prides itself on creating an environment that is safe, fair, and fun for all participants, ensuring that players of all skill levels feel welcome and engaged. With year-round indoor volleyball leagues and seasonal beach volleyball leagues running from April through August, the company provides numerous opportunities for volleyball enthusiasts to participate and stay active throughout the year. Underdog Sports Leagues is committed to offering flexible part-time positions that accommodate various schedules, making it an ideal employer for those seeking a balance between work and personal life. They also invest in their staff's growth by providing an education benefit, helping employees with college tuition, student loan debt, or contributions to a child's 529 education savings plan after meeting work hour requirements.

The role of Volleyball League Supervisor at Underdog Sports Leagues is an exciting and active position designed for individuals with solid volleyball knowledge who are passionate about the sport and community engagement. As a supervisor, you step into the lead role during league nights, ensuring games progress smoothly, making timely rulings, addressing issues proactively, and maintaining a positive experience for all players. This position requires more than just a casual understanding of volleyball; supervisors must confidently make calls, explain rulings, and act as the authoritative figure on site, even when dealing with experienced players. While specific coaching or officiating certifications are not mandatory, real volleyball experience and familiarity with the sport’s rules are essential. The job involves being on your feet, moving around the venue, setting up and breaking down equipment, and communicating effectively with players, captains, facility staff, and the league's central office. Supervisors are expected to create a welcoming and respectful atmosphere, representing Underdog in a professional and approachable manner. This part-time role offers hourly pay of $24.50 with flexible scheduling options ranging from 5 to 20 hours per week, allowing you to tailor your work hours around your availability. Indoor shifts are primarily on weeknights and last 4 to 5 hours, with leagues starting as early as 6 PM and ending by 11 PM. Beach volleyball shifts take place on weeknights between 4:30 PM and 9:30 PM. With a thoughtful and adaptable scheduling approach, Underdog Sports Leagues welcomes those looking for a steady part-time opportunity or occasional work throughout the volleyball season. The role is well-suited for outgoing, dependable individuals who thrive in leadership positions and enjoy fostering an active sports community.
