Job Description

The Company is a prominent and dynamic attraction located in Mukilteo, Washington, dedicated to delivering exceptional visitor experiences at the Future of Flight facility and Everett Factory sites. Known for its engaging aviation-related displays and interactive STEM activities, it serves as an educational and entertaining destination for all ages. This establishment prides itself on promoting a welcoming environment that fosters a love for aviation, robotics, and drone technology, combining learning with hands-on, immersive experiences. Operating Thursday through Monday with schedules that include weekends and holidays, the company is committed to providing thorough and memorable tours and presentations that inspire and educate visitors about aerospace innovation and technology.

The Tour Guide (Visitor Relations) role is vital to delivering the high-quality customer service and brand representation that visitors expect. This full-time position involves working between 32 to 40 hours per week with shifts starting early in the morning and extending until the evening, including weekends and holidays. The Tour Guide serves as both an ambassador and a storyteller, responsible for memorizing and presenting detailed scripted content about the Everett Factory Tour, Backstage Pass, and other tours and interactive exhibits. In addition to leading tours, Tour Guides also support a variety of visitor services such as ticketing, lobby operations, and facilitating interactive STEM activities like robotics and drone experiences.

This role demands a passionate individual with excellent communication skills and an engaging presence who can handle large groups and studios with up to 200 attendees. The Tour Guide must be capable of delivering accurate, clear, and enthusiastic presentations while adapting to updated scripts and new content materials. Coordinating with team members, the role includes optimizing tour scheduling and ensuring smooth, safe visitor interactions throughout the facility. Safety awareness and emergency response readiness are key components of the position, as guides are responsible for addressing safety concerns and assisting in guest evacuations if necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • 1 or more years' related work experience in a role which required strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience with a role that requires presenting, training, teaching, or acting in a client facing environment
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Proven reliability, punctuality and regular attendance
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work early mornings, mid-days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work in standing or walking positions for up to six (6) hours per shift
  • Six months' experience giving public tours and/or public speaking preferred
  • Six months' experience with technology related to events, exhibits, or POS preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools preferred

  • Leads tour activities with up to 52 attendees and theater presentations with up to 200 attendees
  • Facilitates ticket purchases, guest greeting and briefing, theater tech and other operational assignments in support of these programs
  • Assists visitors with general building wayfinding and services at both Future of Flight and Everett Factory sites
  • Learns gallery and exhibit content and actively engages with visitors to share information accurately
  • Facilitates interactive experiences with general public, groups and event guests
  • Proactively addresses and/or reports safety issues or concerns
  • Assists with evacuating guests during emergencies and implements safety training practices as needed
  • Works efficiently to optimize program timing and throughput with tours and works collaboratively on position coverage and rotations
  • Works a flexible schedule which may include early mornings, mid-days, and evenings, plus weekends and holidays as tour and event schedules require
  • Completes mandatory training assignments in a timely manner and participates actively in team training and meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
