The City of Grapevine is renowned for its vibrant tourism industry, showcasing a rich blend of historical landmarks, cultural arts, shopping, dining, and entertainment venues. Serving as a bustling hub in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, Grapevine offers visitors an array of experiences ranging from festivals and museums to galleries and specialty events. The Visitor Information Center is a key touchpoint within the city’s tourism ecosystem. It plays a pivotal role in enhancing visitor engagement by providing comprehensive information about Grapevine's diverse attractions and services. The Visitor Services Representative position is integral to this mission, acting as the primary liaison between the city and its visitors. This role demands a high level of customer service expertise and a passion for tourism. The successful candidate must possess full knowledge of Grapevine's accommodations, attractions, dining options, festivals, museums, galleries, cultural arts center, transportation, and other partner resources. The representative will interact directly with visitors, providing tailored itineraries and drawing from an extensive understanding of local offerings to ensure that guests are well informed and delighted during their stay. Beyond just providing information, this role actively encourages overnight stays and repeat visits, contributing to the city’s economic vitality.

Daily responsibilities include greeting visitors with professionalism and warmth, assessing their needs, and offering customized recommendations. The representative will maintain a strong command of the current tourism products and services, ensuring that information is accurate and up-to-date. They will handle inquiries via in-person contact, phone, and computer, all while managing brochure inventory and logging visitor activity in CRM software. Attention to detail is crucial for tasks such as monitoring digital signage, supporting quality control for the CVB Website, maintaining the Visitor Center’s appearance, and overseeing baggage screening and storage.

This full-time role requires punctuality, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit, as the representative will interact regularly with visitors, coworkers, and other stakeholders. In addition to customer service responsibilities, the position may involve assisting with special projects such as data entry and online research. There is also an opportunity to engage in retail functions, including selling branded souvenirs and attraction tickets, further supporting Grapevine’s marketing and revenue objectives. Overall, the Visitor Services Representative is central to delivering an exceptional visitor experience that supports the city’s reputation as a premier destination.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in customer service or tourism preferred
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Duties

  • Possesses full knowledge of all Grapevine’s accommodations, attractions, dining, transportation options and shopping opportunities, festivals and special events
  • Provides attention to visitor needs, maintains current tourism product knowledge and clearly communicates to visitors
  • Provides visitors with resources and materials to enhance the visitor experience
  • Distributes information in-person, on the telephone and computer
  • Provides information to all guests in a caring, professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Maintains the brochure inventory of local and area attractions
  • Logs visitor request activity in CRM software
  • Communicates information clearly about Grapevine’s tourism product such as attractions, hotels, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, shopping, entertainment centers, historic sites, galleries and special events
  • Records visitor counts, logs and reports to supervisor
  • Provides assistance with special projects such as data entry, online research, phone coverage and other duties as assigned
  • Monitors digital event signage content and Tower security camera screens
  • Assists with quality control and accuracy checks of CVB Website
  • Answers all guests’ questions and concerns
  • Assists with directions, maps and literature needs
  • Screens visitors and baggage
  • Logs, checks baggage, stores and maintains the baggage storage area
  • Maintains guest ready appearance of the Visitor Center, workspace and immediate public area at all times
  • Sells Grapevine branded souvenirs and attraction tickets
  • Performs related duties as directed
  • Regular and timely attendance required
  • Interacts professionally and respectfully with public and coworkers
