The VIP Server role at ASM Global/Boeing Center at Tech Port is a part-time, hourly position classified as non-exempt, offering an exciting opportunity for professionals seeking to grow within the food and beverage service industry. This position entails delivering high-quality, professional food and beverage services to VIP guests during various events held at the facility. The VIP Server acts as a liaison between clients, facility personnel, and temporary staff, ensuring that all event food and beverage needs are thoroughly met and exceeding guest expectations. This requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

As a VIP Server, you will be pivotal to the overall guest experience at the Boeing Center, providing attentive service from set-up through service execution and event close-down. You will assist with preparation tasks, manage guest requests and concerns, and support temporary staff working alongside you during events. The role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team. Due to the nature of events, working hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays, offering flexibility and varied experiences. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, reflecting the active nature of this hospitality role.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold current TABC and Texas Food Handlers certifications, and have a minimum of five years' experience in food service or restaurant settings. The position requires individuals who can adapt swiftly to changing environments, handle customer interactions with professionalism, and maintain a keen eye for detail. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work additional hours as dictated by workload and staffing

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be TABC and Texas Food Handlers certified

  • Strong orientation to customer service
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers

  • Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions

Job Duties

  • Provides guest with exceptional, professional, and attentive food and beverage service within
  • Assist with the preparation and set-up
  • Report any guest concerns and/or complaints to Food and Beverage Manager
  • Provide guidance and support to the temporary staff assigned to an event
  • Assist in any and all side work including but not limited to cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, and creamers
  • collecting banquet equipment such as flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces
  • and preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and bread
  • Other duties as assigned
