Job Description

FIFA World Cup 26 (FWC 26) represents a historic milestone in the world of sports, as it will be the first tournament to feature 48 teams and be co-hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This expansion aims to elevate the excitement and global participation in the event, further cementing the FIFA World Cup as the most celebrated sporting spectacle. The organizing body behind FWC 26 is committed to excellence, innovation, inclusivity, and a seamless experience for fans, players, and all stakeholders involved. This ambitious vision demands a highly skilled and dedicated workforce that can plan and execute every detail of an event that will captivate the world.

One of the critical roles within this monumental project is that of the Manager VIP Hotel. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager VIP/Venue Hotels, this position is an integral part of the FIFA World Cup 26 Accommodation team. The Manager VIP Hotel will be responsible for ensuring that VVIP guests experience impeccable service standards and accommodations in VIP hotels during the tournament. The role is based in the New York/New Jersey area, operating on an onsite basis with a fixed-term contract reflecting the project's temporary yet high-impact nature.

The Manager VIP Hotel will act as the primary liaison between FIFA, hotel management, and various functional areas within the tournament infrastructure. This involves consolidating requirements from diverse FIFA departments, coordinating the activation of reserved FIFA services, and overseeing the logistics of guest accommodations and meeting space arrangements. The position demands exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage high-profile client expectations, and proficiency in conflict resolution to maintain the seamless operation of the hospitality services at the VIP hotel.

Key responsibilities include verifying and managing room allocations, conducting VVIP suite pre-checks, briefing hotel reception staff on FIFA service levels, and coordinating logistical needs such as storage and meeting room bookings. The role also requires close daily collaboration with hotel personnel and FIFA headquarters to address on-site issues promptly and manage invoicing, ensuring all accounts are accurate and compliant with contractual obligations.

Candidates for this position should possess a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, leadership, entrepreneurship, or related fields. Although postgraduate education focused on International Organizations or Sport Management is advantageous, it is not mandatory. A strong background is expected in managing luxury or high-end hotel services, with at least five years of experience in similar or higher responsibilities. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Spanish and/or French can be beneficial. The role also requires familiarity with MS Office applications and planning software to facilitate efficient workflow amid complex operational demands.

FIFA26 promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion as core values, actively seeking candidates from varied backgrounds to contribute to an environment that embraces all identities and perspectives. This opportunity is a call to all capable professionals to become a game changer in delivering an unforgettable experience at the FIFA World Cup 26™.
