As a Beverage Server at Fillmore New Orleans, you will play an essential role in delivering a memorable experience for guests attending live music events in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include anticipating and responding to guest needs with a professional and courteous demeanor. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of beverages to answer questions, make recommendations, and promote menu items, enhancing the overall guest experience. You will handle orders efficiently through the Point of Sales system and navigate crowded spaces skillfully to serve drinks promptly and safely.

Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the venue is crucial. You will be expected to uphold Fillmore New Orleans safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that tables and service areas are clean, spills are promptly addressed, and other obstacles are removed using proper techniques. Protective measures, such as checking identification for guests appearing under 30 years old and enforcing responsible alcohol service, are a critical part of your duties to comply with local ordinances and company policies. Recognizing signs of intoxication and refusing service when necessary, while maintaining a tactful and safety-conscious approach, underpins the commitment to a safe environment.

The role requires collaboration, as you will assist fellow servers and staff, attend pre-shift meetings, and flawlessly execute service standards, including specialized Bottle Service procedures. Job Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
minimum of 2 years of serving experience in an upscale dining and nightlife venue
flexible schedule with ability to work late hours
working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, point of sales systems
responsible alcohol awareness training certification or equivalent
tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner

Job Qualifications

cash handling experience
basic knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixology
experience recognizing valid IDs

Job Duties

Anticipate and respond to guests' needs
strong working knowledge of all beverages
answer guest questions, make recommendations, suggestively sell beverages and menu items, take orders
communicate drink orders to bar through Point of Sales system
deliver drinks maneuvering trays through large crowds
maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through work area
remove dirty glasses and dishes from tables including lifting and moving bus tubs up to 25lbs
keep tables clean and wiped
clean spills and remove food, trash, or other obstacles from floor using proper lifting techniques
maintain Fillmore New Orleans safety and sanitation standards
follow housekeeping standards per policy
keep current on all standard operating procedures
request identification from guests who appear under 30 years of age
ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and company policies
recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service courteously and safely, notifying management
receive payment and process cash, credit card or Traveler's check transactions per policy
ensure comp and void checks are processed according to policy
articulate vocabulary adapting to and socializing with current audience
maintain exemplary and professional grooming standards
assist other servers and staff as needed
attend pre-shift meetings
understand and execute standards and procedures of Bottle Service flawlessly
