The position of Video Coordinator - Athletics at Missouri State University is a dynamic role based at the Springfield Campus within the Intercollegiate Athletics department. This full-time position, classified as exempt with a pay grade of 42, offers an annual salary of $44,488. The Video Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting the athletics communication efforts by planning, shooting, editing, and producing all video content necessary for the promotion and success of the university’s sports programs. The role requires creative storytelling and technical expertise to develop engaging video content across various digital platforms, including game highlights, press conferences, feature stories, interviews, and promotional materials.
Working closely with both the Director of Athletics and the Assistant Director of Athletics - Communication, the Video Coordinator ensures that all video content aligns with the department's goals and enhances the visibility of Missouri State’s athletic teams. This position manages social media platforms, shoots footage for marketing and promotional uses such as award banquets, and oversees the production scheduling to deliver timely and impactful content. Given the nature of athletics coverage, the role necessitates a flexible work schedule with potential for early mornings, late nights, and travel to capture content both on-campus and at away events.
The Video Coordinator must possess a strong understanding of videography equipment, including DSLR and DSLR video cameras, and be proficient with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in time management, organization, planning, and communications, with a proven ability to combine functional and visual elements to create effective digital content. This position requires lifting and handling media equipment of up to thirty pounds occasionally and demands a commitment to technical excellence as well as creative storytelling.
