Job Description
Ponte Winery, BOTTAIA Winery, and Ponte Vineyard Inn are premier hospitality destinations located in the heart of Temecula Wine Country, California. These three interconnected properties have established a reputation for delivering exceptional experiences rooted in sustainability, hospitality, and excellence. They collectively offer a unique blend of elevated food, wine, and lodging services that cater to a diverse clientele seeking both fine dining and casual fare in a picturesque wine country setting. At the core of their operations are five year-round food and beverage outlets and their corresponding kitchens, providing a range of culinary styles that span from sophisticated, high-end dining to relaxed, poolside meals. The team is committed to maintaining high standards while fostering an environment that encourages professional growth and collaboration among culinary and service professionals.
The role of Vice President of Food and Beverage at Ponte Winery represents a pivotal executive leadership position steering all aspects of culinary and front-of-house operations across these three distinct, yet connected venues. This full-time position requires a strategic, hands-on leader dedicated to overseeing five kitchens, two seasonal outlets, and the comprehensive food and beverage service teams. The VP of Food and Beverage is responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between culinary and guest service operations, maintaining consistent quality standards and superior guest satisfaction. This position manages a broad leadership structure, including seven outlet operating managers, assistant managers, kitchen teams, and approximately 90 hourly associates, promoting a culture of accountability, development, and excellence throughout the F&B division. Reporting directly to company leadership, the role demands collaboration with executive chefs, directors, and outlet managers to achieve company goals, including profitability and brand integrity. While the position does not oversee tasting room or special events operations, some coordination with these teams is necessary. This leadership opportunity offers a competitive salary range between $135,000 and $165,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with an annual bonus potential up to 25 percent based on performance metrics such as guest satisfaction, financial targets, and team development. The comprehensive compensation package also includes medical, dental, vision benefits, 401k matching, life and hospital insurance plans, pet insurance, paid time off, and holidays. Furthermore, the company provides unique perks such as professional development stipends, relocation assistance, mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowances, complimentary or discounted dining and wine club privileges, and optional wellness programs. This leadership position is ideal for a seasoned food and beverage executive passionate about hospitality, with a strong background in multi-unit operations, financial oversight, and team development within varied service environments. The role requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflective of the hospitality industry's dynamic nature. Ultimately, the Vice President of Food and Beverage will play a critical role in sustaining the reputation and growth of Ponte Winery and its sister properties through innovation, operational excellence, and exceptional guest experiences.
