The Vice President, Internal Communications & Leadership Enablement, plays a critical leadership role within Easterseals Southern California. This senior executive is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and operating model for all internal communications across the organization. The position is pivotal in ensuring that communication efforts drive organizational alignment, enhance leadership effectiveness, and support enterprise-wide execution. The Vice President leads the internal communications function by establishing governance, setting priorities, and defining standards that enable the communication team to deliver high-impact messaging at scale. This work is essential to cultivating a unified organizational culture and ensuring that strategic goals are clearly communicated and understood across all levels of the organization.

Serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the Vice President helps shape how key decisions are communicated, ensuring that messaging within the organization is clear, consistent, and transparent. The role involves influencing leadership behaviors to foster improved communication practices and alignment across multiple service lines and functions. By designing and managing the enterprise communication cascade and alignment model, the Vice President ensures that leaders are well-prepared and aligned before significant communications are disseminated. This role is integral to building leadership communication capacity throughout the organization, empowering leaders to communicate effectively with their teams, thereby reducing overreliance on the communications department.

The Vice President oversees a team of 3 to 4 direct reports, including directors, communications partners, and coordinators. They are responsible for setting performance standards, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and fostering a high-performing internal communications team that aligns closely with Easterseals Southern California’s mission and values. Success in this role is measured by the effectiveness of organizational alignment, adoption of communications, and enhancement of leadership capabilities. The position requires a strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex communication systems and who demonstrates a strong commitment to quality, person-centered service delivery. This is a hybrid role with a competitive salary range of $190,000 to $240,000, offering the opportunity to work both remotely and on-site to support Easterseals Southern California’s impactful mission.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 15 plus years of experience in internal or corporate communications leadership
  • experience advising senior executives and influencing organizational decisions
  • proven ability to design and lead communication strategies in complex organizations
  • experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven environments is preferred
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain compliance with privacy requirements
  • high attention to detail and accuracy
  • highly proactive and autonomous, with experience meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities, developing and managing strategic plans and administering budgets
  • ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record or fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per ESSC and or program requirements
  • work is performed in a hybrid environment, both remotely and on-site as needed
  • associate must maintain a professional, safe, and secure workspace with reliable internet access to support virtual meetings and daily work
  • must pass all required drug testing by ESSC
