Job Description

Vizient is a leading healthcare performance improvement company dedicated to transforming healthcare through data-driven solutions, innovative strategies, and expansive collaboration. By leveraging deep insights and expertise, Vizient supports healthcare organizations in delivering superior care and operational efficiency. The company fosters an inclusive, engaging, and supportive work environment where employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work and develop both personally and professionally. Vizient is committed to building talent and organizational capability to drive impactful performance now and in the future, reflecting its values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of its operations.

The Vice President, Event Strategy & Management is a critical executive role at Vizient, overseeing the organization's enterprise-wide event strategy. This position is vital in driving growth, retaining clients, increasing satisfaction, and differentiating the Vizient brand in the healthcare industry. The Vice President will transform traditional programmatic event engagements into meaningful, measurable enterprise experiences that cultivate deeper relationships with hospital leaders and key stakeholders. By aligning events with business objectives and strategic messaging, this role influences the sales pipeline and enhances long-term client value. The successful candidate will partner closely with sales, client networks, business units, and senior executive leadership to ensure that Vizient’s event portfolio optimally supports company goals.

Key responsibilities include defining and executing a comprehensive event strategy that prioritizes flagship conferences, C-suite forums, regional events, and both internal and virtual experiences, all supported by a clear commercial purpose. The Vice President will lead event marketing initiatives by developing compelling agendas, themes, and programming that reflect market trends and corporate growth objectives. Operational leadership is another cornerstone of this role, as it requires meticulous oversight of content development, registration, scheduling, onsite logistics, vendor partnerships, technology platforms, and post-event follow-up. This ensures a high level of coordination and seamless execution across departments and external partners.

Delivering an exceptional client experience is paramount. The Vice President will design exclusive, high-value engagements tailored to hospital executives such as CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CMOs, and clinical leaders, elevating Vizient’s executive presence throughout the entire event journey from invitation through post-event communications. Maintaining consistent branding, messaging, and service quality at all touchpoints guarantees a cohesive experience that strengthens Vizient’s reputation and client engagement.

Beyond strategy and client engagement, the position demands a focus on operational excellence and measurable ROI. The Vice President will drive continuous process improvements, establish event KPIs aligned to pipeline influence and client retention, and develop frameworks for detailed post-event analysis including attendance metrics and stakeholder engagement. Managing budgets, governance, risk, compliance, and internal reporting is essential to maintaining transparency and accountability.

On the leadership front, this role leads a high-performing event strategy team, fostering a culture of accountability and results. The Vice President must excel in a matrixed environment with executive visibility, providing trusted counsel to senior leadership on leveraging events to accelerate strategic priorities. The role offers a competitive salary range between $156,500 and $290,100, plus incentive eligibility, underscoring Vizient’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding top talent. Comprehensive benefits further support employee well-being and growth.
