Partnering with Richland County, Via is extending its innovative transportation service specifically designed for students. This collaboration aims to ensure safe, reliable, and convenient travel for students to and from school, facilitating ease of access to educational opportunities while also positively impacting the community. Via operates a user-friendly digital platform that connects driver partners with passengers needing transit services, making it a leader in the shared mobility industry.

Via is currently seeking driver partners to join its Student Transit program. These drivers will play an essential role in transporting students safely to their destinations during scheduled hours in the mornings and afternoons. The role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the local community by supporting student transportation while earning competitive pay with added flexibility. As an independent contractor, drivers have the freedom to choose their own schedules without minimum commitments, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

The driving shifts for this role primarily occur Monday through Friday during peak school commute times, typically from 6:30 to 9:00 AM and from 2:30 to 4:30 PM, although these hours may be subject to change. Drivers will be equipped with a comprehensive orientation and onboarding process to prepare them for safely and effectively navigating the Via platform and fulfilling their commitments to student passengers.

Compensation starts at $25.00 per hour, with additional promotions available, including a $300 new driver partner bonus upon completing required driving sessions. Driver partners must demonstrate a commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence as they transport students. This role is ideal for caring individuals with caregiving experience, who enjoy driving and want to give back to their community while earning extra income.

Job Requirements

  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Be 25 years of age or older
  • Complete a drug screening
  • Have more than 5 years of unrestricted US driving history
  • Have at least 5 years of caregiving experience
  • Have a personal auto insurance policy
  • Drive a vehicle no more than 10 years old
  • Pass fingerprint-based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check

  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 25 years of age

  • At least 5 years of caregiving experience
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Ability to pass fingerprint-based criminal background check
  • Possession of personal auto insurance
  • Experience with safe and courteous driving

Job Duties
