Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stressful and emotional situations with compassion
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotional or stressful situations
  • Proficient with telephone and computer systems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a veterinary healthcare environment

Job Duties

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact with every client entering the hospital
  • Offer a friendly smile and approachable demeanor at all times
  • Listen compassionately to clients
  • Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone
  • Assess the client’s needs and the pet’s condition immediately upon arrival
  • Determine whether an emergency arrival requires urgent care or standard procedure
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to appropriate staff
  • Confirm all appointments and provide clients with accurate preparation information
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients
  • Serve as liaison between clients and service agencies for pet remains handling
