This position demands someone personable, organized, and adept at multitasking within a fast-paced environment. Receptionists will be the first point of contact for clients, managing incoming and outgoing communications efficiently, scheduling appointments, and ensuring accurate record-keeping for patients. Responsibilities include interacting with clients directly, providing clear instructions, handling financial transactions, and maintaining comprehensive medical and referral documentation.
Successful candidates will also advocate for the health and wellness of pets by educating clients on prevention, treatment options, and available hospital services. - Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to multitask and remain organized under pressure

Job Duties
- Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling purposes
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm and organized manner
- Maintain accurate and proper documentation including client and pet records, referrals, and medical history
- Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispense prescription items per veterinarian's directions, and schedule future appointments
- Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates
- Manage hospital financial transactions including accurate balance maintenance, cash and credit card procedures, and proper opening and closing protocols
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally
- Advocate for pet health through client education on preventative care, treatments, and hospital services
- Maintain a positive attitude in interactions with clients, pets, and team members
- Show empathy toward clients and compassion and respect for pets
- Operate standard business office equipment
- Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Be flexible with schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
