Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Ability to use standard office and business equipment
  • Flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Empathy and compassion towards pets and clients
  • Experience with veterinary software preferred

Job Duties

  • Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm and organized manner
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records including referral and medical history
  • Assist clients with instructions, information, invoices, prescription dispensing, and appointment scheduling
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate
  • Manage hospital financial needs including client transactions and cash/credit handling procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service and professional communication
  • Advocate for pets via client education on preventative care and treatment
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate empathy toward clients and pets
