Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or veterinary setting preferred

  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens to offer warm and professional acknowledgement
  • Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor
  • Act as a compassionate listener to clients and speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone
  • Assess immediately each client’s urgent needs and the pet’s general condition upon arrival
  • Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member
  • Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process
