Job Description

The Virginia Beach SPCA Low-Cost Veterinary Clinic (VBSPCA Veterinary Clinic) has been a vital part of the Virginia Beach community for over 30 years, offering affordable veterinary care to pets and their owners. As a respected and well-established animal welfare organization, the VBSPCA is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality services that cover everything from routine pet care and preventive treatments to spay/neuter surgeries and dental procedures. Serving the Hampton Roads area, this veterinary clinic operates with a mission to enhance the health and well-being of companion animals through accessible and affordable veterinary services. The clinic’s commitment to both animals and their owners has made it a cornerstone for pet care in the region.

Working at the VBSPCA Veterinary Clinic means becoming part of a passionate and dedicated team of veterinary professionals. The environment fosters collaboration and support, ensuring that every team member has the tools and resources necessary to thrive. The clinic features a state-of-the-art, newly renovated facility equipped with the latest veterinary technology, including digital radiography for dental and full-body imaging, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, cryotherapy, and EKG machines. Additionally, a cloud-based veterinary database and digital phone systems streamline access to patient and client information from any location, enhancing the efficiency and quality of care provided.

In this key role, you will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting each with care and respect and managing appointments and client communications with professionalism and empathy. Your responsibilities will include handling phone and email inquiries, prioritizing and routing communications appropriately, and providing knowledgeable support regarding veterinary services, pricing, and general pet care information. Working at the VBSPCA Veterinary Clinic is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring excellent multitasking skills and the ability to maintain high-quality customer service even under pressure.

The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with additional Saturday hours from 8 am to 3 pm. Full-time positions range from 35 to 40 hours per week, providing a solid work-life balance. The clinic also offers a comprehensive benefits package to its employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; eight paid holidays; veterinary care discounts for employees' pets; an employee assistance program for additional support; and adoption discounts for those who wish to expand their family with a new furry companion.

Joining the VBSPCA Veterinary Clinic means contributing to a cause larger than a typical job. It is an opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of animals and the people who love them, to work alongside a compassionate team of like-minded professionals, and to grow within an organization committed to excellence in veterinary care. This role is ideal for individuals who are motivated to learn, thrive in team environments, and possess strong communication and problem-solving abilities. If you are someone with a passion for animal welfare and a dedication to exceptional client service, this position offers a fulfilling and rewarding career path.
