Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work compassionately with clients in emotional situations
  • Attention to detail in appointment scheduling and client interaction
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in a customer-facing role preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency

Job Duties

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact every time a client enters the hospital
  • Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor
  • Listen compassionately to clients
  • Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone
  • Assess each client and pet immediately upon arrival
  • Determine the urgency of emergency arrivals
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and direct them appropriately
  • Confirm all appointments in advance and provide clients with accurate preparation information
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients discreetly
  • Serve as a liaison during handling of pet remains ensuring accurate and compassionate communication
