Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography and exposure to radioactive substances
- ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
- confidence around pets including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles
- willingness to work more than 40 hours per week as needed including weekends and evenings
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
- good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity for keyboard and equipment use
- ability to maintain composure and friendly demeanor in stressful situations
- exposure to potential hazards such as bites, anesthesia and controlled substances
- strong reasoning, memory, mathematics and language abilities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- one year of related experience required with customer service preferred
- medical background such as veterinary technician, human healthcare or pharmaceutical experience with medical terminology training preferred
- ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks accurately
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- organizational ability to carry out assignments systematically
- problem solving skills
- client service skills ensuring attentive, courteous and informative service
- ability to accurately follow instructions
- mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and compute rates
- proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
Job Duties
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc within self and team
- actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and route the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team
- maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive and efficiently run hospital to support the needs of wellness plan clients
- provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times including encouraging hospital visits and educating clients about their pet’s health
- assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history, utilizing proper collars and tags, and ensuring prompt service
- assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescription items, selling retail products and scheduling future appointments
- manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and utilizing proper opening and closing procedures
- conduct administrative functions as necessary
- perform other job duties as assigned
