Job Description
Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is a leading pet specialty retailer that has been proudly serving pet parents and their beloved pets for over 60 years. With a vast network of more than 1,500 Petco stores across the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico, alongside 250+ Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics, and eight distribution centers, Petco has established itself as a trusted name where pets go to live their best lives. Beyond retail, Petco is deeply committed to improving the lives of pets and their owners through expert support, a wide range of products, and services that nurture the special bond between humans and pets. Notably, Petco is also the founder of Petco Love, an initiative supporting thousands of local animal welfare groups nationwide, and has contributed to the successful adoption of approximately 7 million animals through in-store adoption events. As a place that fosters inclusivity, authenticity, and wellbeing, Petco offers career paths that make a meaningful difference, embrace individuality, and promote professional growth for those passionate about pets and pet care.
The Concierge position at Petco's full-service Vetco Total Care hospitals is pivotal to delivering outstanding customer service and operational efficiency. As the first and often last point of contact for clients entering the hospital, the Concierge represents Petco’s mission and values by ensuring every pet and pet parent feels welcomed, cared for, and supported throughout their visit. This role requires a compassionate, adaptable, and highly organized individual who not only manages the hospital’s appointment schedule but also helps maintain a calm and efficient environment during peak periods or emergencies. The Concierge handles all incoming phone calls, schedules appointments, greets clients and patients by name, and communicates effectively with veterinary staff to streamline patient flow. Additionally, the Concierge supports the training of new team members, ensures the waiting area is clean and well-stocked, and assists in basic practice logistics, all contributing to a seamless veterinary hospital experience.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, and a dedication to the welfare of both pets and clients. The Concierge is expected to balance client needs while enabling the medical team to focus on delivering exceptional veterinary care. Working closely with Hospital Office Managers and the hospital leadership team, the Concierge plays an essential role in upholding high standards of client care and operational excellence. With a minimum requirement of a high school diploma and at least one year of customer-facing or veterinary practice experience, this position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team committed to making a positive impact in the lives of pets and their owners. Petco provides a supportive workplace environment where employees’ wellbeing is nurtured, and continuous learning is encouraged, making it an ideal place for those who wish to grow their career in the pet care industry.
