Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is a leading retail company specializing in pet products, services, and solutions, dedicated to helping pets and their owners live their best lives. With over 60 years of experience, Petco has established itself as a trusted name in the pet care industry, boasting a network of more than 1,500 stores across the United States, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, along with over 250 Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics, and eight distribution centers. Petco's mission is deeply rooted in the passion for pets and a commitment to enriching the lives of animals and the people who care for them. The company embodies core values such as 'Pet First – Protect & Empower,' ensuring all pets live their best lives by placing their needs at the center of every decision, 'Foster the Fun – Connect & Bond,' celebrating the journey of pet parenthood through unique experiences, products, and services, and 'Let's Go – Own & Commit,' which emphasizes teamwork, authenticity, and shared success.
The role of Concierge at Petco's Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer care and upholding the company’s values. As the first and last point of contact for clients entering the hospital, the Concierge embodies the mission to create a welcoming and reassuring environment for both pets and their owners. This position is essential to the smooth operation of the hospital, focusing on optimizing workflow and ensuring an optimal experience for patients and clients. The Concierge has vital responsibilities such as answering phone calls, managing appointment schedules, greeting visitors warmly, monitoring wait times, and assisting technical staff during busy periods or emergencies. This role demands compassion, flexibility, and excellent communication skills, as the Concierge frequently handles sensitive or emotional situations, balancing client satisfaction with the hospital team's ability to provide outstanding medical care.
The Concierge not only contributes to the hospital's operational efficiency but also plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards of care that reinforce Petco’s reputation as a leader in veterinary services. With no direct supervisory duties, this role encourages teamwork and collaboration among hospital staff and requires familiarity with veterinary practice logistics and patient handling. The position demands a high school diploma, a minimum of one year of experience in a veterinary practice or a customer-facing role, and proficiency in computer and telephone communication. Preferred candidates will have experience with a Practice Management System. The physical demands of the role include standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Petco offers an inclusive workplace that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, inviting individuals to bring their authentic selves to work and grow within a supportive and dynamic environment.
