Job Description

Milwood Animal Clinic is a reputable veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for both small animals and exotic pets. Our clinic thrives on a commitment to unparalleled patient care combined with exceptional customer service. We cater to a diverse range of patients, including dogs, cats, rabbits, exotic birds like macaws, reptiles such as pythons and lizards, and unique pets like hedgehogs. Our approach integrates modern veterinary medicine with compassionate, old-fashioned tenderness to ensure every patient feels comfortable and well-cared for. We place a strong emphasis on Fear-Free handling techniques, which helps us reduce stress for our animal patients during exams and treatments, promoting a positive experience for pets and their owners alike.

We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our small but incredible team of dedicated and compassionate professionals. This full-time position offers a negotiable salary based on experience and operates during convenient daytime hours: Monday and Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Notably, this role comes with no nights, weekends, or holiday shifts, providing a balanced work-life integration that many veterinary professionals value.

The successful candidate will find a workplace culture characterized by support, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth. At Milwood Animal Clinic, our team members enjoy working in a close-knit environment where open communication and collaboration are key. We believe in recognizing the contributions of each individual while fostering an environment that encourages continuous learning and skill enhancement. Our Veterinary Assistants benefit from a variety of perks including quarterly team bonuses, continuing education allowances, and assistance with state licensing and examination fees. Beyond professional opportunities, we also offer lifestyle and wellness benefits such as comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, paid parental leave, generous paid time off, employee discounts, and an Employee Assistance Program.

Working here means engaging with a diverse patient population and applying a holistic and individualized approach to animal healthcare. You will assist veterinarians and technicians in various tasks, support low-stress patient handling, maintain clean and organized work spaces, and communicate compassionately with clients and team members. If you have experience as a Veterinary Assistant and a passion for veterinary medicine, particularly with a fondness for both small animals and exotic pets, Milwood Animal Clinic offers an outstanding opportunity to grow your career in a nurturing and professional setting. We foster a working atmosphere filled with camaraderie, occasional socials, and a touch of humor, making each day rewarding and enjoyable.

Join us and experience the benefits of a career where your skills and compassion are truly valued, where your professional development is supported, and where your contribution makes a real difference in the lives of pets and patients, as well as their owners. If you are ready to work at a clinic that prioritizes quality care, employee well-being, and a positive culture, we encourage you to apply and become part of the Milwood Animal Clinic team.
