The role of Front of House Manager at the Verrado Grille is a full-time position with benefits, where the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the restaurant's front of house operations under the guidance of the Restaurant Manager. This critical leadership role requires managing all service aspects to ensure that standards set forth by Century Golf and Verrado Golf Club are consistently met or exceeded. The manager will play a pivotal role in maximizing profitability while delivering an exceptional guest experience. Key responsibilities include supervising shifts, managing service staff, coordinating with kitchen and other departments, overseeing hostess staff, handling front of house inventory and vendor relations, and maintaining a professional, service-oriented environment. The role demands a well-rounded candidate proficient in POS software, capable of handling physical demands such as standing for prolonged periods and lifting heavy trays, and possessing strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Candidates must maintain current Food Handler’s Manager Certification and Arizona Title 4 Liquor Manager Training, with an understanding of bar operations and legal liquor service. The position requires working a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and events, often surpassing 45 hours per week, and occasionally involving extra shifts during busy periods. The Front of House Manager must excel in employee supervision, training, and morale-building, embody company standards, and adeptly manage multiple responsibilities under pressure. Job Requirements

  • One or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • computer literate and proficient in POS software
  • must have and maintain current Food Handler's Manager Certification
  • must have and maintain Arizona Title 4 Liquor Manager Training
  • must be versed in bar operations, legalities, and pours
  • required to take internal alcohol training after start date
  • ability to stand and walk regularly
  • able to lift and/or carry 35-pound trays and move restaurant furniture
  • high level of physical fitness required

Job Duties

  • Supervise the assigned shift
  • ensuring that service staff delivers the product correctly and in a timely manner
  • meet with kitchen staff to correct ticket times if necessary
  • respond to shift changes and cover shifts as needed
  • ensure all before and after-shift side work is completed properly
  • approve transactions and assist servers with closing
  • perform closing duties including preparing bank deposit and drop
  • supervise hostess staff ensuring proper greeting and seating procedures
  • oversee front of house inventory and work with vendors under management direction
  • monitor events and reservations affecting operations
  • manage front of house during peak periods
  • ensure smooth shift transitions with next supervisor
  • participate in departmental planning
  • assist in hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and scheduling food and beverage staff
  • support ongoing training sessions
  • perform daily and weekly inspections and follow-up
  • use management by walking around to inspect facilities
  • recognize employees for performance
  • lead by example with positive attitude
  • provide gracious, attentive, and courteous service to guests and staff
  • resolve issues and report incidents
  • act as a club ambassador with integrity
