The venue prides itself on maintaining the high standards set by the Century Golf and Verrado Golf Club, ensuring every visit exceeds guest expectations. As an integral part of a vibrant golf club environment, the Verrado Grille not only caters to golf enthusiasts but also serves a diverse clientele seeking quality cuisine in a relaxed yet refined setting. This full-time opportunity comes with a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, optional additional life insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, flexible spending accounts, and paid time off to support work-life balance.
The role of Front of House Manager at the Verrado Grille is critical to the success and smooth operation of the restaurant. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the individual in this position oversees all front of house activities, ensuring that service delivery aligns with the club's standards and that operations maximize profitability. This position demands a hands-on leader who is proficient not only in managing staff and daily shift operations but also in maintaining compliance with all relevant health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
This manager will be responsible for supervising the assigned shifts, ensuring that service staff provide exceptional guest experiences promptly and professionally. Key duties include overseeing the hostess staff, approving financial transactions, managing shift changes, and ensuring all side work is completed thoroughly. The manager must be physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including lifting and carrying trays, moving restaurant furniture, and maintaining a high level of physical fitness. The work schedule requires availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and special events, with a standard expectation of 45 or more hours per week. This schedule could extend to six days during peak times or special events.
Mental acuity is equally important, as the Front of House Manager must communicate clearly, stay organized, handle multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Assertiveness and an outgoing personality are needed to promote menu items effectively and to maintain positive relations with guests and staff. The individual must have a thorough understanding of legal alcohol service and bar operations, including possession of a current Food Handler's Manager Certification and completion of Arizona Title 4 Liquor Manager Training. Internal alcohol training will be required shortly after the start date.
The role emphasizes leadership and people management, including hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling staff. The manager also performs regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, compliance, and quality control, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high standards. The position requires a professional demeanor and acts as an ambassador for the Verrado Golf Club, ensuring that all business is conducted with integrity and guest satisfaction is prioritized.
Overall, this position is ideal for a candidate with a combination of hospitality management skills, operational oversight experience, and a commitment to excellence in customer service. The compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The position offers significant leadership opportunities within a well-regarded golf club restaurant, allowing the successful candidate to impact the guest experience positively while contributing to the financial success of the business.
