The Venue Sustainability Manager (VSM) role is a seasonal, part-time position starting April 27, 2026, with weekly hours fluctuating based on show schedules and business needs. This position is vital in elevating the venue’s sustainability program, focusing on developing and executing efficient resource recovery and material circularity programs. The VSM will manage a team responsible for these initiatives, overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, and budget management. This role operates within the venue’s Operations team, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the National Sustainability Team for technical guidance and performance monitoring.

They possess strong problem-solving skills, are comfortable working in physically demanding environments, and excel in communication, organization, and data analysis. Job Requirements

  • Show days require about 90% of the time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, and carrying 50+ lbs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years in a leadership position with experience in operations, event coordination, managing a team, and working within a budget
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments with hands-on involvement and troubleshooting skills
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact, diplomacy, and teamwork
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to excel in unstructured environments
  • Passion for driving environmental impact through hands-on and administrative work
  • Strong data analysis and Microsoft Excel proficiency with the ability to track, interpret, and report metrics accurately

Job Duties

  • Participate in pre-season venue orientations and mid-season meetings with Live Nation’s National Sustainability Team
  • Drive Venue Sustainability Supervisor and Crew hiring, training, onboarding, and scheduling
  • Provide regular updates to venue staff to share progress, recognize employees, and identify areas of improvement
  • Partner with the venue’s Experience Manager to build a strong sustainability culture
  • Support team morale, safety, and retention during physically demanding work and challenging conditions
  • Identify key opportunities and vendors to expand zero waste capabilities throughout the season
  • Oversee and assist with material sorting process of recycling, composting, reuse, and donation materials to maximize resource recovery and landfill diversion
  • Utilize Microsoft Office to track key program metrics, document operations, and report on progress
  • Manage relationships with waste haulers for schedule and timely weight reports, investigating discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting
  • Collaborate with venue leaders and National Sustainability Team to design comprehensive zero waste plans with actionable goals and accountability
  • Communicate technical sustainability requirements clearly to staff, vendors, and leadership
  • Hold venue departments accountable for correct product sourcing and waste pre-sorting
  • Be onsite during venue setup, concert season, and post-season to ensure zero waste procedures and sustainability integration
  • Manage and report on budgeting with venue management, identifying cost savings and adjustments
  • Utilize staffing templates to match resources to material flow and adjust in real time to stay within labor and budget targets
  • Create and maintain high-efficiency waste sorting operations using resources from National Sustainability Team
