The Vending Prep position at Aramark plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of a vending stand by assisting the Vending Stand Leader with food and meal preparation, as well as meal record keeping. This position demands a high level of attention to detail regarding food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards. The Vending Prep is responsible for preparing food and baked goods according to a planned menu, maintaining accurate storage of food items in a sanitary manner, and serving food following scheduled meal times and departmental policies. An essential part of the role includes assisting in completing daily reports that track transactions and menu compliance, ensuring that all meals meet established standards.

In addition to food preparation duties, the Vending Prep oversees the proper care and use of kitchen equipment, including knives, and participates in major cleaning activities such as sanitizing refrigerators, freezers, steam tables, counters, and other kitchen apparatus. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is vital, as is adhering strictly to food safety regulations and company uniform policies. The role sometimes involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may also be required.

Job Duties

  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, duties include sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • use of personal protective equipment as required
