The role of Customer Advocate at Carvana is an exciting opportunity for individuals with at least 2 years of customer-facing experience who are eager to grow their careers in an innovative and fast-paced company. This position is integral to Carvana’s customer experience, as Customer Advocates are responsible for delivering happiness—not just cars—to customers. They play a crucial role in bridging the gap between modern technology and personal customer service by delivering vehicles directly to customers’ doorsteps, managing customer paperwork, and ensuring the smooth and safe operation of Carvana’s proprietary car haulers.

Customer Advocates will work in dynamic shifts from 7am to 5pm, 9am to 7pm, or 11am to 9pm, with availability required 7 days a week, offering rotating days off. The position provides a competitive hourly rate starting at $20, with structured pay increases tied to performance milestones within the first six months, and opportunities to enhance earnings further through incentive programs. The job includes a blend of customer interaction, logistical coordination, and physical activity. Customer Advocates load and unload vehicles onto car haulers, conduct vehicle inspections, handle customer documentation thoroughly, and maintain safe driving records. Training is provided, including for driving car haulers which require no commercial license, making this an accessible yet challenging role. Carvana also covers specialized licensing requirements for certain states.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of customer-facing experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to obtain a notary commission within the first 90 days
  • Ability to satisfy state-specific licensing requirements
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record
  • Must pass drug test and obtain DOT Medical Card

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of customer-facing experience
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including loading/unloading vehicles
  • Ability to sustain physical activity for extended periods
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to obtain required state certifications and licenses
  • Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity for frequent driving
  • Ability to comply with Carvana’s CMV driver qualification policy

Job Duties

  • Deliver vehicles straight to customers' doors with custom car haulers
  • Load and unload vehicles onto the hauler
  • Regularly inspect the car-hauler to maintain vehicle safety
  • Complete customer paperwork and record thorough notes in the tracking system
  • Drive safely and maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company policy
  • Obtain a local notary commission within 90 days of employment
  • Satisfy state-specific requirements related to DMV access and title/registration systems
