Job Description
Carvana is recognized as the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and notably one of the four fastest companies to make the Fortune 500. Carvana revolutionizes the car-buying experience by reintroducing happiness back into the process, both through innovative delivery and exceptional customer service. As a technology-driven company, Carvana has changed how customers buy, finance, and trade vehicles online, simplifying the process and making it more enjoyable. They are committed to creating a positive work environment that fosters growth and rewards stellar performance, offering competitive pay and numerous benefits that support employee well-being and professional development.
The role of Customer Advocate at Carvana is essential to delivering happiness to customers through direct vehicle deliveries right at their doorsteps. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with at least 2 years of customer-facing experience who are enthusiastic, energetic, and eager to build a career within a fast-paced, evolving company. Customer Advocates work as part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering vehicles using Carvana’s custom car haulers. Although a commercial license isn’t required, thorough training is provided to operate the haulers safely. The position involves physical activity such as loading and unloading vehicles and conducting inspections to ensure safe transport.
Customer Advocates also play a vital role in the customer service process, handling paperwork and maintaining detailed notes in the customer tracking system. Maintaining a clean driving record is critical, and adherence to Carvana's commercial motor vehicle driver qualification policies is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must acquire a local notary certification within 90 days of employment—Carvana sponsors this process—and satisfy state-specific requirements related to DMV and title and registration access. Depending on location, additional licenses such as a Chauffeur's or Vehicle Verifier license may be required within a short timeframe after hiring, with Carvana covering the associated costs.
This full-time role requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts operating from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the expectation that employees work seven days a week with rotating days off between weekdays and weekends. Carvana offers a competitive starting hourly rate of $20, which increases based on performance through their Careers Not Jobs program, providing employees with four merit-based pay raises within the first year and significant earning potential. Additional performance-based incentives may be available depending on location.
With a strong emphasis on health and wellness, Carvana provides 100% company-paid healthcare premiums including dental and vision benefits, a wellness program supporting mental and financial health, and even a pet care savings program. Paid time off is generous, starting at 13 days in the first year and increasing thereafter, supporting work-life balance. The company also invests in education through tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment programs, along with granting equity ownership opportunities and providing extensive professional development and advancement opportunities. Carvana’s commitment to equality, employee growth, and creating a rewarding workplace culture makes this more than just a job—it’s the chance to be part of a pioneering company transforming the automotive landscape while building a thriving career.
