The position available is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver based in Glenwillow, OH. This role is essential within the country’s food supply chain, ensuring that food and related products reach customers promptly and in excellent condition. The driver acts as the face of Core-Mark, building lasting relationships with customers through professional communication and reliable service. The position requires a valid CDL Class A license, with no prior experience necessary, and offers a competitive salary range between $75,000 and $85,000 with the commitment of only one overnight per week. The shift runs Monday through Friday, with dispatch times between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Responsibilities include driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver food products, performing necessary safety checks and inspections compliant with Department of Transportation regulations, properly loading, securing, and unloading freight, handling customer interactions professionally, and completing all required documentation accurately. The driver must perform damage control checks, verify deliveries, and manage customer payments where applicable while adhering to company and DOT safety standards at all times. Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness of equipment and trailers, completing daily hours of service logs, and contributing as a team player within the department to support company goals. Job Requirements

  • valid CDL Class A license
  • minimum age of 21 years
  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • clean motor vehicle report for past three years
  • pass post offer drug test
  • pass criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • valid or attainable DOT health card
  • ability to hand-lift and operate equipment for moving freight
  • availability for Monday to Friday shift with early dispatch
  • willingness to work one overnight per week
  • able to perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading freight

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • valid CDL-A license
  • must be 21 years or older
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report for past three years
  • pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • attain or have valid current DOT health card or be able to secure new DOT health card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases of varying size and weight

Job Duties

  • perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • inspect tractor truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • report all safety hazards immediately
  • inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products loaded
  • check and complete all required paperwork associated with freight in an accurate and legible manner
  • move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • perform damage control checks on items, scan and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • collect money where required
  • load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • ensure tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • unload all equipment and materials and remove trash from trailers as required
  • complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log according to Federal DOT, state and company requirements
  • perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
  • secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at end of shift
  • perform other related duties as assigned
