Job Description
The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation has a rich history dating back many centuries as a community of people living together, farming, hunting, and fishing to survive. Over the years, the tribe has evolved and diversified its ventures. Today, the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation and owns and operates a premier Casino and a Golf Resort. Additionally, the tribe manages several other business ventures throughout the San Diego region, contributing significantly to the local economy and community development. Sycuan is not just a business conglomerate; it is a vibrant community united by a common goal to support its members and provide exceptional experiences to its guests and visitors.
For those who join the Sycuan team, whether working within the state-of-the-art Casino, the breathtaking Resort, or the Tribal Government division, there is a strong sense of belonging to the Sycuan family. The tribe prides itself on fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture where every employee is valued and empowered to excel. It is with this spirit that Sycuan is seeking to hire a Valet/Bell Captain, a vital role in the guest experience journey.
The Valet/Bell Captain position is perfect for an individual passionate about delivering unforgettable guest experiences in a fast-paced, luxury resort setting. This role serves as the welcoming face for guests during their arrival and departure, setting the tone for their entire stay. It combines exceptional service with leadership and hands-on execution, allowing the individual to create seamless and personalized guest experiences while guiding a high-performing valet and bell staff team.
The primary responsibilities include parking guest vehicles safely, providing on- and off-site transportation services, and assisting guests with bell services like luggage handling and providing facility information. The Valet/Bell Captain also oversees and provides guidance to valet and bell attendants, trains staff, monitors performance, and maintains a professional and welcoming environment. This leadership aspect requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage time efficiently while upholding the tribe's high service standards.
Applicants should be ready to work in various weather conditions, stand and walk for extended periods, and operate both manual and automatic vehicles. The role demands professionalism, the ability to interact effectively with diverse guests and team members, and a dedication to safety and quality service. This is an hourly position suited for someone eager to contribute positively to a community committed to excellence and guest satisfaction. Joining Sycuan means becoming part of a dynamic workplace where cultural heritage, community values, and modern business practices come together to make every guest experience special.
